I grew up Charlottesville and I have been drawing and painting for as as long as I can remember. I enjoy working with acrylic gouache, pen and ink, digital illustration, and textiles. I am deeply inspired by the natural world and by vibrant colors. I believe in the amazing healing abilities of color and nature, and the combination is always the focus in the art I create.
I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University, School of the Arts in Richmond Virginia. I majored in Fine Art Illustration, part of the Communication Arts and Design Department. While attending VCU I also had the amazing opportunity to study painting and drawing at the Lorenzo De Medici Art Institute of Florence, in Florence Italy.
In 2006 I founded my greeting card company Lola & Bella Designs and I started illustrating and printing my own greeting card. I create personal pet portraits from photos. I use acrylic gouache for all of my pet portrait paintings. I can also make greeting cards and pillows of your furry family member. Pricing and sizing is available in the Shop section of my website.
You can find me and my artwork set up every Saturday at the IX Art Park Farmers Market from 8-12PM . My greeting cards are currently available for sale in at Rebecca’s Natural Food, Integral Yoga Natural Foods, Cranberries in Staunton, Animal Connection, Quirk Hotel Gallery - Charlottesville, Batesville Market, Bluebird Co., Crozet Artisan Depot in Crozet Virginia.
